I love plaid. I’m majorly, totally, butt-crazy in love with plaid. And I know it’s everywhere and maybe you’re tired of seeing it, or maybe you wore yours out last year and you feel like it has nothing left to give, but I think you need to give it another chance. I don’t see a flannel shirt as something to throw on when I’m lazy; it’s a wardrobe staple, a go-to. If you really think about it, it’s possibly one of the most versatile items in your wardrobe. You can wear it a bunch of different ways, dress it up or dress it down, and it’s always comfortable. And to put things in perspective for you, my wardrobe consists almost entirely of black/white/gray clothes. So to tell you that I think plaid -it has colors! MULTIPLE COLORS! that’s a big deal for me!- is this versatile and easy to wear says a lot.

Did you think the only way to wear it was to put it over a t-shirt or a tank with jeans? Well, you’re wrong.  Tuck it into a skirt and add a chunky necklace. Wear it over or under a dress and belt it. Wear it under a sweater, under a blazer, with a leather skirt, with a lace skirt, with a pencil skirt, with heels, with boots, WHATEVER. Seriously, you can pair it with anything. Mix it up, wear it with stripes. Get one from the guys side for a different fit! It’s great on it’s own, it’s great for layering, and they come in so many color combos and styles that you can always find the right one.
